Introduction

“Lead lives imbibing spirituality, only then will it become meaningful, full of joy and beauty.”
— Amma (Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi)

  • About "The Art of Prayer" Retreat

“Children, pray and shed tears as you think of God. That is the greatest Sadhana. No other Sadhana will give you the bliss of divine love as effectively as sincere prayer.” - Amma

Prayer is universal. One could say that it is the most natural and easiest way to connect and communicate with the divine. Both Amma and Sanatana Dharma place great importance on prayer.

Whether we pray regularly or are just starting out, some questions may pop up along the way. “How should I pray? What should I pray for? To whom do I pray ? Why do I sometimes feel that God doesn’t answer my prayers? How can I deepen my prayer practice?”

  • Benefits

The Walking the Path: Navigating Life’s Journey with a Spiritual Perspective series aims to bring spiritual concepts into our minds and hearts. By gaining a spiritual perspective on the various aspects of life we are able to face the everyday challenges that life presents with a sense of calm and composure, knowing that the divine is with us and guiding our development every step of the way.

Each retreat in this series focuses on a particular theme that fosters spiritual understanding at a practical level that we can easily employ and integrate into our lives. We can gain more peace and progress on the spiritual path as we put our spiritual understanding to use.

Jyotirup

About the Instructor

Jyotirup met Amma in 2007. Being deeply moved by Her teachings and example, he moved to the French ashram where he spent the next three years serving alongside Swamini Amritajyoti Prana. Towards the end of 2010, Jyotirup would make his last and final move, this time to the Amritapuri Ashram alongside his wife. He became an Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) instructor in 2015 and has been coordinating this seva for Amma’s Western children in Amritapuri ever since. This seva allowed him to travel throughout South India teaching IAM to the youth in Amma schools. He is also a ‘trainer of the trainer,’ training individuals to become IAM instructors.

Since 2017, he has been a facilitator at Amrita Silent Retreats, where he regularly leads silent retreats in French.

In 2020, with Amma's blessing, he became an astrologer and has since been giving Vedic astrology readings both at Amritapuri and online.

Recently, in 2024, he was appointed Vice-President of the Embracing The World’s French endowment fund.

Jyotirup is delighted to share what he has learned in Amritapuri and his ashram experience.
