Ashta Sadhana. ENGLISH. On Demand.

Introduction

Amma says that it is good to dedicate at least one day a month entirely to your Sadhana.

  • About Ashta Sadhana Retreat

Over the years, Amma has compassionately blessed us all with a variety of highly powerful spiritual practices. The significance of these sadhanas is extremely profound.

In this full day Ashta Sadhana Retreat, we will be exploring, understanding and absorbing the profound significance of eight of these Sadhanas.

The sessions will consist of a mix of guided practices with Swami Atmananda Puri through videos recorded at his retreat conducted live at Amritapuri.

  • Benefits

"Children, It’s good to set apart at least one day in a month and dedicate it fully for spiritual practices"
    - Amma

This full day retreat will help you practically implement this loving instruction from Amma by giving you a template for your own monthly Sadhana holiday.

  • How does it work

The intention of this retreat is for you to have an experience similar to those who take the retreat at Amritapuri Ashram.

For this reason it is recommended that you set aside a full day for the Ashta Sadhana Retreat to ensure you get the intended experience.

Suggested Requirements

Our instructor, Swami Atmananda Puri, has made these suggestions, to follow as you are able:

  • Archana book: to chant the 108 Names of Amma and the Sri Lalita Saharanama. Available on the free Amma app for Android and iPhone or for puchase at The Amma Shop

  • Mala: preferably with 108 beads for the Mantra Meditation session. Malas are available at The Amma Shop

  • Asana (meditation mat) or a chair for extended sitting sessions.

  • A quiet space where you can immerse into the practices uninterrupted.

Retreat Format

You are free to go through the retreat at your leisure and according to your schedule. However, it is recommended, to set aside a full day and follow the 1-day retreat format. This is how the retreat is conducted at Amritapuri with participants physically present. Following this format will help you to get the intended experience of the retreat, and will demonstrate a practical approach to following Amma's advice of dedicating a full day each month for the practice of Sadhana. Following this precious advice will also allow us to gain mental and spiritual strength in our day-to-day lives and help us to experience mental, physical and spiritual well being.
