Learn to sing a beautiful Krishna bhajan! "Jai Radha Madhava" is a traditional Vaishnava bhajan praising Krishna and his feats during the time he spent in Vrindavan. It was written by Bhaktivinoda Thakura (1838-1914). The name of the bhajan means “Victory to Radha and Madhava”. Madhava is a name of Krishna that refers to his honey-like sweetness.
Sindhu will guide you through singing this bhajan by listening, repeating and practicing the verses. You will learn the proper vocalization and pronunciation of the lyrics. The goal is for you to be able to sing and feel the bhajan from your heart regardless of your musical knowledge or vocal abilities. No knowledge of shrutis, ragas, etc. is required—though these might be touched upon as a foundation for your musical growth.
Everything in nature has music within.
Listen to the chirping of the birds, the buzzing of bees, and the rustling of leaves in the breeze. Listen to the wind, the rain, and the waves in the ocean—there is a sound, a rhythm, a song, expressing itself. They are all singing their heart song. Likewise, we also have music within ourselves. We each have a special Amma heart song just waiting to be sung.
Let’s journey together and explore how we can embrace and sing our heart song with devotion and bhakti.
